Good News, Bad News, Good News .....

This Saturday morning started as most Saturdays do, with a shave and a shower and while waiting for Wendy to get ready for breakfast out at the local Colonial restaurant, I read the morning paper .The headline in the news paper jumped right off the page, “ School buss crash sends six to hospital”. As some of you know, Kristina just recently started to drive a school buss. As I started reading I was telling myself that this could not be her buss, could it? She surly would have called to let us know of the accident, wouldn’t she? Unless dummy, she was hurt and unable to call. My heart sped up a couple beats as I continued to read on. Sure enough, the buss that had been hit was in fact from school district 300 where Kris works. The story goes on to say that four kids and two drivers were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The buss drivers name was listed and thankfully not Kristina’s. That’s the first good news. At a time like this, ones emotions go way up and way down in a heart beat. Happy to find out it was not your daughter that was hurt, yet someone’s daughter was hurt. It did not dawn on Wendy or I that any of our grand children would be on a school buss. I thought all three of them walked to school. Later Saturday afternoon while visiting with Russ and Kristy Riley and their new baby at Connie and Bills, Kristina and Tiffina informed as that one of the kids taken to the hospital had been Tiffani, who at the time was experiencing lower back pain. Tiffina reassures us that she is Ok and free of any back pain. I asked Kristina that in the future to please call us if something of this nature happens again rather then reading about it in the morning paper. She said that she know she was going to see us that afternoon and didn’t think about the story being in the paper. Click here to read the news paper article. My not so normal Saturday continues, yes with a few more gray hairs.
