Geddy eats like a horse and last weeks follow up veterinary visit reflects that he is on the mend. His stool is formed and he weighted in at 58 lbs, three lbs gain, proof that his body is absorbing the nutrients from his food. Both Wendy and I can see the improvement in his health. He has much more strength and continues to play with Mya every day. With daily visits to the park he is getting stronger each day. We will have a stool sample checked this week to see how the worms are doing and he is on the tail end of a second dose of steroids for the itching. He continues to itch now and then but Wendy thinks no more then I do.
We work on training Geddy every day and he is doing OK. He gets very excited at meal time and has slowed down eating a bit. We, or should I say, I, was considering “Flash” for his adopted name. Crate training was a bust. He broke out of the crate once. Not sure if it was my fault not getting the crate put together right or his Whodeani like abilities but he broke out. He reluctantly slept in the crate at night and when we left the house would break wires. We had left him out of the crate while we were gone for short periods with no or few problems. We came to the conclusion that it would be safer for him if we let him have the run of the house with Mya. Things are working out fine. Only one accident in the house on his first day otherwise he knows were to stand to ask to go out.
What happened to "Payton"? Maybe it should be "Cutler"!
