Little to report on these days, Christmas day had twenty five family members over for the annual turkey dinner. The bird was cooked to perfection I do say so myself. The trick is the twenty hour brine the twenty-one plus pound Butter Ball sits in before a slow, 320 degree, six hour roast. Wendy prefers that the bird not be stuffed. Instead a large batch of stuffing is cooked on the side. With all the other great dishes that were brought along, no one went away hungry.
Cody, Tiffani and Echo are spending the Christmas break with their father in Florida. I understand that for the first few days it has been raining most of the time. Hope to get a complete report on their first ever plan ride(s) and trip when they get home late on the 5th of January.
Wendy and I are doing our part in keep the economy running like a well tuned engine by spending a boat load of money the past month on things like car repairs, a new snow thrower, septic system repairs, Christmas presents, and a $500 veterinary visit (Zach is ok) to mention a few, we hope things finally settle down a bit.
Happy New Year!!!
May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.
